Michael Cappozzo
Director of Media Services
Michael's passion for storytelling has always been a driving force in his career—this love for narrative fuels his work as the Director of Media Services for Strategia Consulting.
For almost 25 years, Michael has worn nearly every hat in the sports and news TV world. Now that he's shifted into the corporate world, Michael showcases his versatility and adaptability by telling his clients' stories.
It was in college that his creative nerve was sparked. Creative writing and framing shots with a camera became a second language. He cut his teeth in television by being willing to take jobs in small markets such as Bismarck, North Dakota, and South Bend, Indiana. Crafting his skills and making small market mistakes gave Michael his homecoming shot in Chicago. In 2004, he applied to the start-up Comcast SportsNet. Executive Producer Lissa Druss hired Michael, which kicked off their twenty-year friendship and collaboration journey.
For the next 16 years, if it happened in Chicago sports, Michael was there. He had a helluva run covering the White Sox and Cubs World Series wins and all three Blackhawks Stanley Cup Championships. Michael crisscrossed North America, covering hundreds of regular-season and All-Star games while constantly sharpening his shooting, producing, and editing skills.
After a brief stint at WGN-TV in 2021, Michael and his wife Kate embarked on a new adventure, relocating to Vancouver, Canada, where she grew up. Despite the challenge of working remotely, Michael has once again adapted and pivoted to video conferencing. He travels back and forth to Chicago and everywhere in between to work alongside our clients. His role as a creative producer, editor, and social media content creator allows him to stay at the forefront of his field, constantly learning and adapting to the latest storytelling tools and techniques.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts in broadcast journalism from Columbia College in Chicago. He has won multiple NATAS Chicago/Midwest Chapter Emmys. In 2025, he will earn Canadian citizenship and become a dual citizen!
