Amy Kent
Senior Strategist
Amy is an award-winning journalist and communications specialist with expertise across a variety of media platforms, though she still prefers using good old-fashioned pen and paper for notetaking.
As Strategia’s Senior Strategist, Amy has an innate ability to hone a powerful voice that brings life to her messaging. Her friendly nature and charming personality, both a product of growing up in Iowa, create a relaxed atmosphere for her and her clients to work in, which allows for the delivery of a clear and concise message.
During her career, Amy has developed comprehensive marketing campaigns for a number of clients, including a rebranding project for the Village of Flossmoor. As the Communication Manager, she played an integral role in creating a new website, digital and print advertising campaigns, and merchandising for the Village’s residential recruitment efforts. Those efforts led to increased housing values, economic development, increased volunteerism, and widespread community pride.
At the Village, she also shared her duties with Flossmoor School District 161, all during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Amy’s experience working with multiple intergovernmental partners simultaneously showcases her ability to balance client work effectively, making her a valuable asset to Team Strategia.
Amy capitalizes on her storytelling prowess to convey dynamic messages for the organizations that need it most. In addition to telling the stories of her clients, she is also writing a children’s book dedicated to her son, Lincoln.
When Amy isn’t busy doting on the ever-changing interests of her toddler, she is an avid guitar player, LGBTQIA rights advocate, and amateur photographer, even earning a 2014 Associated Press APME award for best Business Photo.
Amy graduated Magna Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Ashford University, where she attended on scholarship for soccer and softball.
